bios :: Adrienne Brown

Adrienne Brown is Managing Director of the Conscious Movements Collective (featured in the Future 500, www.future500.com), which produces benefit shows, education programs/curricula and documentaries on HIV/AIDS and Youth. She is also currently the Program Manager at the Harm Reduction Training Institute NY, where she coordinates over 100 trainings a year and four training calendars. Miss Brown trains on a variety of topics including harm reduction, global hiv/aids empowerment and the drug war. She is also a freelance writer, singer/songwriter, poet/prose writer, visual artist and housing/job consultant. She's a member of the Third Wave Foundation, Women's HIV Collaborative, WBAI, Justice 4 Youth Coalition, Artist Youth Educators (AYE), and James Baldwin Peace Collective. Miss Brown grew up traveling the world and fell in love with the internationalism of NY, where she has lived for the last 7 years. She studied Political Science, African American Studies, and Voice at Columbia University. While there she was awarded the student-voted Alumni Achievement Award for Outstanding Individual.
